My Role as part of the IT & Operations Finance
Team was multifunctional and provided me with an active
and varied programme. In the main; |
- Employed within a proactive Management Accounting
Team in support of the Director of Group IT &
Operations, accounting for approximately £1bn of
the banks annual costs and reporting on a
headcount of about 4,500 staff.
- Delivery of business-focused financial
information to Central Finance for ultimate
delivery to the Deputy Group Chief Executive.
- Financial evaluation and subsequent monitoring of
capital expenditure and other investment
proposals.
- Produced timely and relevant "flash"
and Executive reports, aimed at both IT &
Operations line management and to Central
Finance, enhancing the quality of presentation on
a continuous basis.
- Co-ordination of Business Plans, Budgets and
Forecasts for IT & Operations, ensuring
ownership by line managers and effective
communication to Central Finance.
- Act as pivotal support for Group Wide Programmes
(including Y2K, Strategic Review of Purchasing
and EMU) for which IT & Operations was
sponsor or a major contributor.
In support of the above, I was also involved in; |
- Producing a Disaster Recovery/Contingency Plan
and reporting thereon.
- Transferring from legacy systems to SAP, and the
subsequent adaptation of business practices.
- The training and evaluation of 2 new members of
staff.
- Assisted off-site with both a balance sheet
reconciliation (and subsequent adjustments
required) and an investigation into capital
expenditure on IT Projects.
